craft bazaar

Enter Berkeley's World Crafts Bazaar and you enter our local culture. Where artisans, musicmakers, selected local merchants with ties to music or world culture, and community intermingle.

Since 2008, colorful booths have framed the Festival's People Park Concert.

The African sculptures, Tibetan prayer flags, Ecuadorian village handicrafts; instrument makers of native American drums and African kalimbas & gourds with local culture, face painting, pouches, soaps and more ... create a vibrant market and fun stroll against a backdrop of music.

This year, we are launching a second crafts village, defined by an all-day street music program of fine entertainment.

This is on the historic 4th (2400) Block of Telegraph where Moe's Books, Amoeba Music, and The Mediterraneum Cafe are most famous. Here the vibe is a market plaza.

Telegraph Merchants, Tienda Ho (fashionable Indonesian clothing) and Amoeba Music lead eye-catching booths. Some artisans actively add pizzaz through craft demonstrations or adornment services (as henna tattoos).

"I love the Berkeley World Music Festival! It's the perfect grass-roots event, done only as Berkeley can. My only problem is trying to decide what to see."
