Berkeley World Music Festival
Friday Night to Sunday, June 1-3, 2018
Berkeley World Music Festival is a free world music and cultural weekend that features musical genres from every corner of the world! Some of the finest musicians in the world who call the Bay Area home perform at this Festival. The Festival opens with a Friday night kick-off party at Le Peña Cultural Center, 3105 Shattuck Avenue.
Saturday and Sunday's offerings include a wonderful mix of music from Noon – 9 pm in a variety of settings throughout the Telegraph Avenue neighborhood. Best Starting place is the main information booth at Telegraph and Haste.
Saturday, a world music tour takes place in a variety of Telegraph Avenue venues, from intimate café and street music to the featured concert in People’s Park with crafts fair. Saturday night marks the first free party at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Ave. at Gilman.
On Sunday, Telegraph and Durant Avenues are transformed into a leisurely pedestrian “Sunday Streets” plaza for family friendly activities anchored with world music dance and symphony stations, as well as back porch jams. Sunday evening the Festival hosts its finale party at the Tap Haus, 2516 Durant Ave.
